Wastewater generated from the brewing (beer, alcoholic beverages), non-alcoholic beverage, and various food processing industries typically contains high concentrations of biodegradable organic matter (e.g., sugars, proteins, starches, alcohols), pectin, natural pigments, and residues of cleaning disinfectants. Although relatively low in biological toxicity, this type of wastewater is characterized by high COD levels, unbalanced nutrient ratios, a tendency to acidify and decompose, and significant fluctuations in water quality and volume. Widely applied as conventional aerobic biological treatment processes are, they still face challenges such as high aeration energy consumption, substantial excess sludge production, sensitivity to high-load shocks, and difficulty in completely removing certain soluble refractory substances.
To meet the food and beverage industry’s specific requirements for wastewater treatment processes in terms of cleanliness, operational flexibility, and cost control, we have launched our Electrochemical Wastewater Treatment Equipment. Adopting high-efficiency electrochemical catalytic oxidation technology, this system is specially designed for rapidly degrading complex soluble organic matter, improving wastewater biodegradability, and achieving sludge-free pretreatment or advanced purification. It provides an innovative auxiliary or primary treatment solution that requires no chemical additives, generates no secondary solid waste, and enables rapid deployment.
Core Advantages of the Equipment
Clean Oxidation for Synchronous Degradation of Refractory Components
Through electrochemical reactions, the equipment directly generates highly oxidizing reactive species, which can effectively attack and degrade residual natural pigments (e.g., flavonoids), partial disinfection byproducts, and refractory intermediates produced by microbial metabolism in wastewater. The entire process requires no addition of chemical flocculants or oxidants, which not only avoids introducing new chemical pollutants or increasing effluent salinity, but also fundamentally eliminates the generation of chemical sludge. This ensures the intrinsically clean nature of the treatment process and significantly reduces the complexity and cost of sludge disposal.
Compact Skid-Mounted Design Perfectly Suited for Food Production Facilities
Constructed with food-grade compliant materials, the factory pre-assembled skid-mounted modules feature a compact, aesthetically pleasing structure with minimal footprint. The equipment can be rapidly deployed near production workshops or within existing wastewater treatment stations, realizing “plug-and-play” quick commissioning. It is particularly suitable for modern food and beverage factories with limited space, strict hygiene requirements, or needs for rapid capacity expansion and renovation.
Flexible Multi-Functional Applications to Meet Diverse Production and Water Management Needs
According to seasonal production fluctuations, water quality changes caused by product switching, or different discharge/reuse standards, the equipment can be flexibly configured for the following roles:
As a High-Efficiency Pretreatment or Emergency Peak-Regulating Unit: During production peaks or discharge of high-concentration wastewater (e.g., tank cleaning, product line changeovers), it performs rapid oxidation pretreatment on wastewater to drastically reduce peak COD loads, stabilize the influent quality of biochemical systems, and prevent system collapse due to shock loading.
As an Advanced Treatment and Stable Compliance Guarantee Unit: It conducts advanced “polishing” treatment on effluent from biochemical processes, efficiently removing residual chroma, trace refractory COD, and potential odor-causing substances. This ensures that the sensory and chemical indicators of effluent consistently meet the strictest standards for direct discharge or high-quality reuse (e.g., factory landscaping, equipment flushing).
As an Independent Core Treatment Unit: For high-concentration organic wastewater from specific production sections such as juice pressing and syrup preparation, or for small and medium-sized production facilities, it can be configured as an independent, short-process treatment line to achieve one-stop purification of wastewater from collection to direct compliance with discharge standards.
Intelligent Control, On-Demand Operation, and Ultra-Simple Maintenance
The system features high automation and is equipped with a user-friendly intelligent control interface, which can automatically adjust operational intensity based on preset programs or real-time online water quality monitoring data. With rapid startup response, the equipment perfectly matches the multi-shift, intermittent, and seasonal wastewater discharge patterns of the food and beverage industry, enabling flexible operation of on-demand use and instant standby upon shutdown. Its “zero chemical consumption, zero chemical sludge” design means daily maintenance only requires simple inspections, eliminating the need for professional chemical management and complex sludge dewatering/disposal processes, thus significantly reducing labor costs and long-term operational expenses.
Our electrochemical wastewater treatment equipment provides an environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and easily deployable innovative wastewater treatment option for global brewing and food beverage enterprises pursuing efficient, clean, and flexible production operations. It serves as an ideal technical solution to help enterprises optimize water management, reduce overall operational costs, realize water resource recycling, and enhance their corporate image of sustainable development.
