The wastewater generated from fine chemical production (covering dyes, pigments, pesticides, pharmaceutical intermediates, functional materials and other fields) is characterized by highly complex compositions, significant variations in pollutant concentrations, large amounts of refractory organic compounds (e.g., aromatics, heterocyclics, halogenated hydrocarbons, etc.) and potentially high salinity.
