High-concentration organic landfill leachate, characterized by ultra-high levels of refractory organic matter (with COD often ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of mg/L), complex toxic substances, high salinity, and extremely poor biodegradability, is recognized as one of the most challenging wastewater types globally. The conventional combined process of "pretreatment + biological treatment + membrane separation" is not only characterized by lengthy workflows and huge investment, but also frequently plagued by systemic bottlenecks such as difficult startup and unstable operation of biochemical systems, severe fouling of membrane modules, and intractable disposal of final high-salt concentrate. These issues result in high overall treatment costs and prominent risks in achieving stable discharge compliance.
To address the advanced treatment challenges of this complex wastewater, we have launched our Electrochemical Wastewater Treatment Equipment. Adopting enhanced electrochemical advanced oxidation technology, this system is specially optimized for directly attacking and mineralizing refractory organics such as humic acid and fulvic acid in leachate, providing an intensive, high-efficiency treatment solution that is independent of biological processes, requires no chemical agents, and generates no secondary hazardous waste.
Core Advantages of the Equipment
Potent Oxidation with High Salinity Tolerance to Target the Core of Pollution
Based on an optimized electrochemical system, the equipment in-situ generates reactive species such as hydroxyl radicals with ultra-high oxidation potential. These species can efficiently break the chemical bonds of complex macromolecular organics, progressively degrading them until complete mineralization is achieved. Its unique advantage lies in its tolerance to, and even utilization of, high-salinity environments, which significantly improves current efficiency and solves the problem of severe inhibition of traditional biochemical processes and Fenton-like oxidation caused by high salinity. The entire process requires no addition of any chemical oxidants, acids, or alkalis, fundamentally avoiding the massive production of hazardous chemical sludge and increased volume of high-salt concentrate resulting from chemical dosing.
Skid-Mounted Modular Design for Rapid Deployment and Flexible Capacity Expansion
Employing factory-prefabricated, highly functionally integrated skid-mounted modules, the equipment condenses core treatment units into a compact space, with a footprint of only one-third or less of that of conventional advanced oxidation facilities. It can be rapidly delivered to the site and put into operation, making it particularly suitable as an enhanced pretreatment unit for existing treatment systems to quickly improve treatment capacity and shock load resistance. It is also applicable to modular, phased construction of new projects.
Flexible Multi-Functional Applications to Precisely Match Different Treatment Stages
According to leachate water quality (e.g., landfill age) and final disposal targets, the equipment can be flexibly integrated into key links of the full treatment process:
As a Core Enhanced Pretreatment Unit: It performs high-efficiency oxidation on raw leachate, drastically reducing COD load and significantly improving wastewater biodegradability. This creates stable, high-efficiency operating conditions for subsequent biochemical systems, solving the pain point of "difficult biochemical startup".
As an Advanced Treatment & Pre-Membrane Guarantee Unit: It conducts "oxidation polishing" on effluent from membrane bioreactors (MBR) or biochemical processes, deeply removing refractory COD and chroma to meet the stringent influent requirements of nanofiltration (NF)/reverse osmosis (RO) systems, and effectively delaying membrane fouling.
As a High-Efficiency Concentrate Volume Reduction Unit: It efficiently treats high-concentration refractory concentrate generated by membrane systems, achieving substantial organic matter reduction and significantly alleviating the heavy pressure on subsequent terminal disposal processes such as evaporative crystallization.
Intelligent Control, Robust Operation & On-Demand Startup
Equipped with an advanced process control system, the equipment can real-time respond to water quality fluctuations and automatically optimize operating parameters. It features rapid startup capability, adapting to the irregular generation of leachate, and realizing convenient on-demand operation. The "zero-chemical-agent" process completely eliminates the burden of hazardous chemical management and sludge disposal, significantly reducing life-cycle operational costs and environmental risks.
Our electrochemical wastewater treatment equipment provides an innovative, high-efficiency, compact, cost-effective, and rapidly deployable solution for clients facing the challenges of high-concentration organic landfill leachate treatment. It serves as a key technological choice to break through existing technical bottlenecks, achieve stable discharge compliance of complex wastewater, and drastically reduce overall treatment costs.
