Coal chemical wastewater is a typical type of high-concentration, high-pollution, and refractory industrial wastewater generated during coal conversion processes. This wastewater usually has an extremely complex composition, containing high concentrations of phenolic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heterocyclic organic compounds, ammonia nitrogen, cyanides, sulfides, and a large number of toxic and hazardous substances. Its characteristics include high chemical oxygen demand (COD), deep color, strong biotoxicity, and generally poor biodegradability. The direct application of traditional biological treatment processes is often inefficient or even completely ineffective, facing multiple challenges such as high treatment costs, lengthy processes, large sludge production, and difficulty in achieving stable discharge standards.
Addressing the core challenges of coal chemical wastewater—"refractory and highly toxic"—the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment, developed and manufactured by our company (AA&SS AQUA HITECH CO., LTD.), plays a role in detoxification and advanced mineralization. Designed based on the principles of efficient electrocatalytic oxidation, the equipment generates highly oxidizing reactive species, such as hydroxyl radicals, in-situ on specially designed electrode surfaces. These species can non-selectively attack and break down the stubborn aromatic and heterocyclic structures in the wastewater, gradually degrading them until complete mineralization is achieved. Its core engineering advantages are: the entire operation requires no addition of any chemical oxidants or catalysts, and its reaction pathway is designed to ensure no generation of secondary chemical sludge. This fundamentally simplifies the hazardous waste disposal process, providing a clean, efficient, and manageable technological pathway for treating complex coal chemical wastewater.
The wastewater undergoes pretreatment, including units for oil removal, phenol recovery, ammonia stripping, and other recovery and pretreatment steps to reclaim valuable substances and remove components that inhibit or interfere with subsequent processes. Subsequently, the wastewater enters the front-end EC Electrochemical Equipment, which effectively removes colloidal particles, some emulsified oils, color, and part of the heavy metals and COD from the wastewater. It also improves the treatability of the wastewater, reducing the load for subsequent advanced oxidation.
The pretreated effluent then enters the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment for advanced purification and removal of toxic and harmful substances. At this stage, the characteristic pollutants remaining in the wastewater—such as BTEX, PAHs, and heterocyclic compounds that are difficult to degrade biologically—are efficiently decomposed under strong electrochemical oxidation. Leveraging its electrode system and reactor design, which feature strong anti-fouling capability, high catalytic efficiency, and stable operation, our company's equipment can continuously and stably generate high concentrations of oxidizing reactive species. This ensures the thorough destruction of toxic substances and the deep removal of COD, significantly enhancing the biodegradability of the effluent or enabling direct compliance with stringent discharge standards.
