The phenol-containing wastewater generated during coal chemical processing, petroleum refining, phenolic resin production, and certain chemical synthesis processes contains a variety of phenols and their derivatives, including phenol, cresol, and chlorophenol. Characterized by high toxicity, poor biodegradability, and stable chemical properties, this type of wastewater exerts a strong inhibitory effect on microorganisms, making it difficult to treat with traditional biochemical processes. Meanwhile, physicochemical methods such as advanced oxidation often face challenges like high oxidant consumption, elevated operational costs, the potential generation of toxic intermediates, and secondary pollution from chemical sludge.
To meet the demand for efficient treatment of phenol-containing wastewater, we have launched our Electrochemical Wastewater Treatment Equipment. Adopting electrochemical advanced oxidation technology, this system is specifically optimized to efficiently destroy and degrade the molecular structures of phenol and its derivatives, providing a clean and reliable treatment solution that eliminates reliance on external oxidants and avoids the generation of secondary solid waste.
Distinct Advantages of the Equipment for Treating Petrochemical Phenol-Containing Wastewater
High-Efficiency Degradation of Phenolic Structures for Complete Harmlessness
Through electrode reactions, the equipment in-situ generates strong oxidizing species such as hydroxyl radicals. These species can efficiently attack and break down the stable aromatic structures of phenol and its derivatives via ring-opening reactions, gradually converting them into small-molecule organic acids and ultimately achieving complete mineralization. The entire process requires no dosing of chemical oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide or Fenton’s reagent, eliminating the generation of chemical sludge at the source as well as the risks associated with the transportation and storage of hazardous chemicals, and thus realizing a clean treatment process.
Integrated Skid-Mounted Design for Rapid Deployment and High Adaptability
Constructed with corrosion-resistant materials and utilizing factory pre-assembled skid-mounted modules, the equipment features a compact and robust structure with minimal footprint. It can be fully and rapidly delivered to project sites, enabling quick installation and system integration while significantly shortening project cycles. This design is particularly suitable for the renovation of production facilities, the construction of emergency treatment systems, or as an enhancement unit for existing water treatment systems.
Flexible Process Configuration to Fully Meet Treatment Objectives
The equipment’s operational strategy can be flexibly adjusted according to specific water quality characteristics and treatment requirements:
As a High-Efficiency Pretreatment Core: It rapidly degrades the biological toxicity of phenolic substances, significantly improves wastewater biodegradability (B/C ratio), and creates safe and stable operating conditions for subsequent biochemical treatment systems.
As an Advanced Treatment Guarantee Unit: It performs advanced oxidation on the effluent from biochemical or physicochemical treatment processes, ensuring that key indicators such as phenol-based characteristic pollutants and COD consistently meet the strictest international discharge or reuse standards.
As a Standalone Treatment System: For high-concentration phenol-containing process wastewater or effluent from specific production sections, it can be configured as an independent treatment line to achieve one-stop high-efficiency purification from influent to direct discharge compliance.
Intelligent Control & High Adaptability
Equipped with an intelligent control system, the equipment can respond in real time to fluctuations in water quality and volume. It features rapid startup and shutdown capabilities, perfectly matching the continuous or intermittent wastewater discharge characteristics of the petrochemical industry, and enabling convenient on-demand operation. The elimination of chemical dosing systems throughout the process greatly reduces the complexity of operation and management as well as long-term comprehensive costs.
Our electrochemical wastewater treatment equipment provides an advanced solution for the petrochemical, coal chemical, and related materials industries, delivering efficient, cost-effective, safe, and rapidly deployable treatment for phenol-containing wastewater. It serves as a reliable technological choice to help enterprises achieve stable compliance with discharge standards, reduce environmental risks, fulfill social responsibilities, and promote sustainable development.
