Painting wastewater is a typical composite contaminated effluent generated by surface treatment industries such as automobile manufacturing, mechanical processing, and furniture production. Its water composition is complex and presents significant treatment challenges. This type of wastewater typically originates from different processes like pretreatment degreasing, phosphating, electrophoretic painting, and spray painting. After mixing, it contains high concentrations of petroleum-based oils and greases, emulsions, resins, organic solvents (such as xylene), phosphates, heavy metal ions (e.g., zinc, nickel, manganese), and complex organic pigments and additives. Its core characteristics are the wide variety of pollutants, high COD concentration, extremely poor biodegradability, presence of toxic organic substances and heavy metals, and significant fluctuations in water quality and quantity following production schedules. If the traditional "demulsification-coagulation-biological treatment" process is employed, it often faces bottlenecks such as high pretreatment chemical dosages, generation of large quantities of hazardous chemical sludge containing heavy metals and organics, biological systems being sensitive and prone to failure due to toxic substances, and limited removal efficiency for dissolved resins and solvents. This leads to difficulties in stably meeting stringent discharge standards, particularly in controlling characteristic organic pollutants.
Addressing the core treatment challenges of painting wastewater—"complex composition, high toxicity, poor biodegradability"—the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment, developed and manufactured by our company (AA&SS AQUA HITECH CO., LTD.), generates highly oxidizing species like hydroxyl radicals through electrocatalytic action. These can non-selectively attack and break the chemical bonds of complex resin polymers, organic solvents, and dye molecules in the wastewater, converting them into smaller organic molecules and ultimately mineralizing them. Its core engineering advantage is that the entire advanced oxidation process operates completely without relying on the addition of external chemical agents. Furthermore, this purely electrochemical process does not generate any additional chemical sludge or residual solid waste, achieving a clean treatment process, making it particularly suitable for treating the complex composition of painting wastewater, which may produce unknown hazardous waste.
Wastewater first undergoes segregated collection and pretreatment. Oily wastewater requires efficient demulsification and oil-water separation, while phosphorus and heavy metal-containing wastewater requires targeted chemical precipitation pretreatment. The pretreated combined wastewater then enters the core electrochemical enhanced treatment stage. The front-end EC Electrochemical Equipment performs deep purification and complex-breaking functions. The micro-flocculants generated electrolytically not only efficiently remove residual colloids, fine suspended solids, and phosphates from the wastewater but also破坏 the organic complexed forms of some heavy metals through electrochemical action, converting them into forms more easily precipitated, thereby synergistically reducing heavy metal and organic loads.
The effluent after solid-liquid separation contains primarily refractory dissolved organic matter (such as resins, solvents) and some residual heavy metals as pollutants. At this point, the wastewater enters the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment. In this unit, strong electrochemical oxidation provides deep degradation and mineralization of all persistent toxic organic compounds, effectively eliminating their biological toxicity. Our company's equipment is optimized for the high organic content and potentially oily nature of painting wastewater, ensuring electrode anti-fouling capability and oxidation efficiency, thereby achieving stable and efficient removal of characteristic pollutants.
Finally, the effluent after deep treatment by the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment has undergone fundamental improvement in water quality, with significant reductions in heavy metal and organic compound concentrations. Based on specific discharge standard requirements, treatment through subsequent sand filtration or activated carbon filtration enables stable and compliant discharge.
Through the CQDHX SERIES EO Electrochemical Oxidation Equipment developed and manufactured by our company, operating in a clean mode requiring no addition of chemical oxidants throughout the process and generating no chemical sludge, the most challenging issue of toxic organic compounds in painting wastewater is efficiently resolved. This not only ensures long-term stable and compliant effluent but also significantly reduces the enterprise's hazardous waste disposal costs and environmental compliance risks. It provides solid and reliable core technical equipment for the cleaner production and green development of the surface treatment industry.
For wastewater with special characteristics or unique treatment objectives, our company's engineers provide technical support and solutions.
