The nanofiltration system is designed to achieve precise and efficient separation of components in water. It can selectively retain divalent and multivalent ions, organic substances (with molecular weight ranging from 200 to 1000 Da), pigments, viruses and microorganisms at relatively low operating pressure, while allowing most monovalent ions (e.g., Na⁺, Cl⁻) to pass through. This characteristic makes it an ideal choice for material desalination and concentration, water softening and high-quality water reuse.
The system adopts the process of quartz sand filtration + ceramic flat membrane + activated carbon + nanofiltration. This design provides nearly perfect feed water conditions for the nanofiltration membrane through three-stage pretreatment, which can fully exert the efficiency and stability of nanofiltration technology. Based on this process, our nanofiltration system can deliver the following values:
Quartz sand & ceramic membrane: They provide an unparalleled physical barrier, completely removing suspended solids, colloids and microorganisms, ensuring the SDI value is stably below 4, and eliminating the risk of physical contamination of the nanofiltration membrane.
Activated carbon: It efficiently adsorbs residual organic matter, pigments and oxidizing substances, providing critical chemical protection for the nanofiltration membrane and preventing organic fouling and oxidative damage.
Nanofiltration unit: As the core of the system, with the guarantee of perfect front-end pretreatment, it achieves long-term, high-flux stable operation and accurately meets the separation targets.
Technical Highlights
High recovery rate & low energy consumption: Thanks to the optimized system design, the water recovery rate can reach 70%-90%. The operating pressure is significantly lower than that of reverse osmosis (RO) systems, resulting in outstanding energy-saving effects.
Membrane lifespan & stability: Benefiting from the absolute filtration of ceramic membranes and in-depth protection of activated carbon, the fouling rate of nanofiltration membranes is extremely slow, the frequency of chemical cleaning is greatly reduced, and the expected service life is extended by more than 30%.
Flexible achievement of multiple objectives:
Separation & concentration: Recovery of high-value components in food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Softening & purification: Production of high-quality softened water, removal of micro-pollutants such as pesticides and antibiotics.
Wastewater reuse: Realization of high-quality resource utilization of industrial wastewater.
Fully automatic intelligent control: Integrated with PLC and intelligent instruments, it monitors key parameters (pressure, flow rate, conductivity) in real time to achieve adaptive operation and early warning.
Application Scenarios
High-quality drinking water purification: Removal of hardness (softening), nitrates, arsenic, pesticides and organic matter, improvement of water taste, and retention of beneficial minerals.
Food & beverage industry: Process water preparation, raw water purification, sugar liquid decolorization and purification, and improvement of alcohol quality.
Pharmaceutical & biotechnology industry: Pretreatment of purified water systems or preparation of process water for specific applications.
Special separation & concentration: Material desalination, dye desalination, salt separation and recovery of valuable components.
Reclaimed water reuse & advanced wastewater treatment: Used as fine pretreatment before reverse osmosis, or directly producing water that meets specific reuse standards.
